Dr Michael Angputra is a geriatrician who provides personalised and thoughtful care for older adults. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne and undertook medical training across St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Eastern Health, Western Health and Barwon Health.
Michael’s passion for geriatric medicine began with his grandmother’s journey through ageing, which showed him how deeply a person’s lifetime of experiences, resilience, values and identity shape the way they age. Her story reinforced his belief that meaningful care begins with understanding what truly matters to each individual, not just their medical conditions.
Michael supports patients and families with practical, compassionate guidance through medical complexity, cognitive changes and functional challenges. He takes pride in helping older adults live well in the way that matters most to them.
